While painting this piece, I was drawn into that quiet truth, that through every struggle, there is always a light guiding us forward.
The manta ray carries beautiful symbolism. It represents grace, wisdom, protection, and emotional depth, often seen as a gentle and intelligent guardian of the ocean. With its ability to glide effortlessly through both light and shadow, and to dive deep beneath the surface, it reflects our own journey inward.
It reminds us of the importance of introspection… of allowing ourselves to move through life’s deeper waters, to face what lies beneath, and to emerge with a renewed sense of clarity, strength, and personal growth.

“Let It Pass” is a gentle reminder that moments come and go, yet we often hold onto them far longer than we need to.
As I painted this piece, I felt as though I was being carried by the current… not resisting, not forcing, but simply allowing it to take me where it may, I could literally feel myself floating. There was a sense of ease in watching life move, rather than trying to control it.
Turtles carry beautiful symbolism. They remind us to move at a slow, steady pace, choosing patience over impulsivity. Connected deeply to water and emotion, they represent a balance between movement and stillness, between the inner and outer world.
If turtles can move through life with such calm and quiet trust, we can too.

“On Sandy Shores” is a reflection of the quiet peace and healing I find by the ocean.
As I walk along the shoreline, I often search for what I like to call little “treasures”… small, forgotten pieces that have been carried in by the tide. One of those treasures is the sand dollar.
I’m always mindful to leave anything that still holds life, but when I find a sand dollar that has already completed its journey, I see it as something worthy of a second chance.
Now, it rests in my studio alongside other little “nature friends,” each one a quiet reminder that even what is left behind can become part of a beautiful, creative journey.

“A Whale of a Time” was painted from a place of pure joy.
As I worked on this piece, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of childlike wonder… the kind that fills the room and makes everything feel lighter. While many pieces in this collection brought a sense of calm, this one felt different, it overflowed with energy, movement, and joy.
There’s something so freeing about the whale breaking through the surface, simply being itself, uncontained and alive.
