The story of this release:

I always wanted a place that's quiet to go, without interruptions, even just for a little bit, where absolutely nothing is being asked of me.

The thing that always kept me from that was believing my worth came from how much I got done from my never-ending to-do list, not from who I already was.

Then when I got sick, I had to stop doing and just be in the being, let someone else take care of me for once. What I felt wasn't pride in everything I'd accomplished, it was regret for every moment I'd rushed past instead of actually living in it, it was sadness for not having painted more. That's when I understood: rest was never something I had to earn, it was mine the whole time, I'd just never let myself take it.

What I've learned since is that stopping isn't falling behind, it's actually how life gets lived instead of just survived.

Rest In Bliss came directly out of that season.

Notice how the chair in the painting is empty? It's being reserved for you, a place to sit, rest, watch the water, and let the to-do list fade away. When you own this piece, my desire is that you feel that same permission every time you look at it.
